Food Delivery Services That Are Giving Back

Throughout this pandemic, it’s been inspiring to see communities across the country lend a helping hand to those who have been most affected by COVID-19. Even food delivery services are going above and beyond to offer support. We talked about how these companies introduced contactless food delivery, but over the past month, they’ve started to ramp up their efforts even more.

Grubhub, Postmates, and DoorDash have all pitched in to support local restaurants, hospital workers, and vulnerable populations who are especially at risk. TopCashback is proud to be partners with such thoughtful organizations, and we’d like to highlight some of the contributions these companies are making in the fight against this virus.

Grubhub ( Cashback)

Now more than ever, Grubhub is stressing the importance of supporting local restaurants and eateries. It started a few campaigns to give back to the owners and employees of these businesses. For example, the Community Specials campaign allows customers to receive $10 off any order of $30 or more from local restaurants every day from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Grubhub has also introduced the Grubhub Community Relief Fund. Customers can donate change from their orders to this fund, which distributes the money to different charitable organizations supporting local restaurants.

DoorDash ( Cashback)

Like Grubhub, DoorDash has stepped up to the plate to offer financial assistance to local restaurants and their employees. It announced $100 million in commission relief to aid restaurants with 5 or fewer locations. And, it’s offering priority access to restaurant staff members who want to sign up as delivery workers for DoorDash in order to meet their financial needs.

DoorDash is also partnering with local governments across the United States to deliver food and supplies to our most vulnerable community members.

Postmates ( Cashback)

Postmates has taken several important measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its customers and workers. It launched the Postmates Fleet Relief Fund, which helps its employees cover the cost of co-pays, medical bills, and sick leave related to COVID-19.

Postmates is also offering reduced delivery fees during peak lunch hours, in order to make meals more accessible to everyone working or learning from home.
