6 Plays for the Perfect Pre-Game Party

With September here, it brings the stunning realization that summer is fleeting. However, it also brings the beginnings of the most treasured American sport; Football! Yes, that’s right, another Football season is here, and for everyone out there who is looking for a little help in how to make this year’s annual Football party one to remember, you’ve come to the right pre-game party!

Play #1

The absolute best thing about having a party for a game, is that you get the fan feel of watching the game and cheering with friends in the comfort of your own home, or that of your friend’s home. No overpriced burgers and beer, sticky stadium floors, and uncomfortable plastic seats. The first play in this Pre-Game party is to select your stadium. Whether it be the living room or the den, no matter where it is inside of your home, make sure it is outfitted with comfortable seats and exceptional views of the TV. A final tip; make sure nobody will mind if the fans get rowdy in your stadium, because intense games are the best ones!  If your heart still lies within seeing the action in person, save on your tickets with Seat Geek.

Play #2

The next play to keep in mind before the game starts is a simple one; this isn’t a dinner party! We’re hosting a party for a sport! This is a rough and rowdy game! This doesn’t need the good china, or even a dinner plate. Plastic silverware, plastic plates, and napkins will ensure that your stadium doesn’t stay a stadium once the game is over.

Play #3

This next play outlines the importance of game day food, and ties into our first play. Because this isn’t a dinner party, there must be food that is relatively easy and simple to prepare, eat, and clean up! In fact, as much as everyone loves a wonderfully prepared steak dinner or duck served with a pear infused reduction sauce, that just isn’t a plausible meal for a game day party. Acceptable foods include wings, burgers, hotdogs, chips and dip, pizza, etc. Taking some creative rights with the food can lead to some interesting and fun recipes and foods for the game. A team Slow Cooker or Chef Set from Walmart can make meal prepping on game day more inventive and fun! This play makes it an especially authentic experience, and can really make or break the party.

Play #4

When putting together a game day party, it is important to keep in mind how many guests are attending. Knowing who your guests are, and how many are coming is a big key to prepping game day food and beverages. If one person enjoys wings especially, and he is coming today, make sure you get some wings! Catering to your guests can be the little thing that turns someone’s day around, or even makes them feel doubly welcome, even special! These tactics can also be applied to beverages, as well. Make sure to take note of any food allergies and attempt a remedy, because that can also positively impact the game and party for someone.

Play #5

Entertainment? During a football game? But isn’t that the entertainment?! Well, of course it is! But, for enthusiastic Football fanatics, who wouldn’t enjoy a pick-up game in the backyard before the game starts? Use this as a warm-up for the game, so the true spirit of football can be truly enjoyed throughout the day. Who says the Perfect Game Day Party only has to be the watching part?

Play #6

Finally, the last play is probably the most important, yet the most overlooked and absolutely devastating to a Game Day Party. Make sure you check your television, remotes, and cable! Everything needs to be in tip-top shape so not even a commercial of the game is missed. Replace batteries, swap out cables, adjust the dish, whatever is necessary to make sure you catch the whole thing!
